The Rainbow Dance Troupe has been a small group of VSDance students who participate in competitive dance and workshops in the early spring.

This year Rainbow Dance Troupe will form a new division - COMPANY.

Company is a group of dancers who attend an extra class each week to learn pieces to perform around Citrus and Marion County at special events. 

But competition is not required by company members.

 Should these students decide to compete they are welcome to audition for the Rainbow Dance Troupe. 

RDT Competition Practice is not-for-profit, meaning the studio receives no compensation for their participation in these activities. All rehearsals for their competitive team dances have no studio charge—all we ask is that these students participate in Ballet, Tap, & Jazz our studio, making them well rounded dancers and representatives of VSDance.

But still, being a part of the Rainbow Dance Troupe is not an easy task—these dancers must fundraise anywhere between $900-$1200 this year to cover competition expenses including workshop fees, costumes, competitive dance entry fees, parent observation fees, class uniforms, and warm-ups.

The main goal of our team is instill the values of
self-respect and respect for others, responsibility, and commitment.

And because competition is not the main focus at our school, we hope that these students gain a sense of the dance world: what it’s like to audition, have success, and even persevere through failure – ultimately teaching them lessons they will use throughout their life.
